Start with evidence, not apologies

A first CV can draw on coursework, volunteering, family responsibilities, part-time work, and personal projects. The useful question is what these activities demonstrate. A group assignment can show planning and collaboration; helping organize an event can show communication and follow-through. Label the context honestly so an employer can distinguish a course project from paid employment. Put education and relevant projects near the top rather than leaving a large empty experience section.

Describe one finished project in detail

Choose a project related to the vacancy. Explain the problem, your role, the method, and the output. For example, “Interviewed five classmates about library access and presented three improvements in a course project.” This is credible because the scope is clear. Replace the example with your own work. Add a link only if the material is public and contains no private information.

Keep education informative

Include your program, institution, and expected graduation date. Select a few relevant modules instead of listing every class. Explain any distinction or scholarship accurately. Your profile can name the role you are pursuing and the evidence you bring, without claiming established professional expertise. Remove an empty work section and use Student, which places education first.
