Use specialty, evidence, and direction

A summary is a short introduction, not a compressed autobiography. In three or four sentences, tell the reader what kind of work you do, what evidence supports your ability, and what contribution you want to make. Write it after your experience bullets so it reflects the strongest real material. If every applicant could use the same paragraph unchanged, make it more specific.

Compare vague and concrete openings

Vague: “Motivated professional with excellent communication skills.” Concrete: “Customer service specialist handling written support in Armenian and English. Built a troubleshooting guide for recurring payment questions. Looking to help a growing product team improve customer clarity.” The second version names context, a contribution, and a direction. Its claims still need to be true; the structure is what you can reuse.

Tailor the opening without changing the truth

Choose the experience most relevant to the new role. A developer applying to a testing-heavy team might emphasize reliable releases rather than visual polish. A student might lead with a completed research project. Avoid unsupported superlatives and years of experience calculated from unrelated activity. The editor recommends 300–600 characters as a useful starting point, not a compulsory limit.
